ETERNAL LIFE

John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent". Life is of different kinds. There is plant life, animal life, human life, angelic life and there is also God-kind of life. The God-kind of life is also known as the eternal life, which is being referred to as "Zoe" in Greek language. Eternal life is the nature of God; it is life as God has it, the very quality of life God possesses. Each kind of life offers possibilities and realities of is own mind. For example, the plant life cannot do what the animal life can do, neither can the human life do what the angelic life can, but the God-kind of life offers peculiar realities of its own kind.
Jesus Christ came into this world to bestow eternal life upon everyone who believes in God through him (john 3:16; John 10:10). Anyone who takes Jesus Christ for his possession has the eternal life says the book of 1st Join 5:11-12 "He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son hat not life" why? This is because He is that eternal life and the giver of it. Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth and the life. Eternal life is God's nature (1st John 1:1-3). Anyone who is born of God has that nature (1st John 5:1).
Eternal life functions through the active; ongoing knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ, his Son (John 17:3). This knowledge comes to us through the revelation of God's word. My dear reader, acknowledge Christ today and keep his commandment and you will have the eternal life (John 12:50).
