Giving respect to whom it's due is needed, including to ourselves, by doing this, we are obeying God's word and not pleasing man. A respective lifestyle is expected of a child of God to be sunshine and be willing to be corrected (Roman 13:1). A disciplined person is prone to humility, good conduct and we'll mannered (1st Peter 5:5) and likewise brotherly love should be assist us and we submitting to the higher authority as Commanded by God because whatsoever we are doing to man, we are doing it to God as well.
Another significant thing is the fact that humility is one of the criteria for God in lifting man up (1st Peter 5:6). Between, there is need for us to respect ourselves and higher authority because there is no authority without the consent of God.
